Acceptable Use Policy

This Acceptable Use Policy ("AUP") governs your use of the Web42 platform at https://web42.ai. This policy supplements our Terms of Service and applies to all users, including Buyers and Sellers. Violations of this policy may result in content removal, account suspension, or permanent account deletion.

1. Prohibited Agent Content

You may not publish, distribute, or make available any Agent that:

  • Contains malware, viruses, trojans, ransomware, or any code designed to damage, disrupt, or gain unauthorized access to systems, networks, or data
  • Harvests, collects, or exfiltrates personal data, credentials, API keys, or other sensitive information without explicit user consent
  • Impersonates another person, entity, or AI system, or misrepresents its capabilities or purpose
  • Generates, facilitates, or promotes illegal activity, including fraud, money laundering, or unauthorized surveillance
  • Contains or distributes copyrighted material, trade secrets, or other intellectual property without authorization from the rights holder
  • Produces deceptive, misleading, or deliberately false output presented as factual
  • Attempts to circumvent platform access controls, payment mechanisms, or licensing restrictions
  • Performs cryptomining, denial-of-service attacks, or unauthorized network activity

2. Prohibited Marketplace Behavior

You may not:

  • Create multiple accounts to circumvent bans, suspensions, or enforcement actions
  • Engage in fraudulent transactions, including purchasing your own Agents to inflate metrics
  • Abuse the refund system by repeatedly purchasing and refunding Agents
  • Scrape, crawl, or use automated means to access the Platform without prior written permission
  • Manipulate reviews, stars, install counts, or other marketplace metrics
  • Impersonate other users, sellers, or Web42 staff
  • Use the Platform to spam, harass, or send unsolicited communications
  • Interfere with or disrupt the Platform's infrastructure or other users' experience

3. Anti-Piracy

Piracy is strictly prohibited on Web42. You may not:

  • Redistribute, re-upload, reshare, or resell any Agent acquired through the Platform that carries a license prohibiting such activity (including but not limited to Proprietary and Custom licenses with redistribution restrictions)
  • Remove, alter, or obscure any license notices, copyright notices, or attribution requirements from an Agent
  • Circumvent access controls to obtain Agent files without a valid purchase or access grant
  • Share access credentials, CLI tokens, or any other mechanism that would allow unauthorized users to access paid Agents

Violation of any anti-piracy provision results in immediate and permanent deletion of your account, revocation of all Agent access, and forfeiture of any pending seller payouts. Web42 reserves the right to pursue additional legal remedies.

4. Content Standards

Agent listings (descriptions, metadata, cover images, and README content) must:

  • Accurately describe the Agent's functionality, requirements, and limitations
  • Not contain misleading claims about capabilities, performance, or compatibility
  • Not include offensive, discriminatory, or inappropriate content
  • Not infringe on third-party trademarks or brands in a way that suggests false endorsement

5. Enforcement

Web42 enforces this policy at its sole discretion. Actions we may take include, but are not limited to:

  • Warning: A notice to cease the violating behavior
  • Content removal: Removal of the offending Agent or content from the Platform
  • Account suspension: Temporary restriction of account access and functionality
  • Account deletion: Permanent removal of your account, all published Agents, and revocation of all access — applied immediately for anti-piracy violations
  • Legal action: Referral to law enforcement or pursuit of civil remedies where appropriate

The severity of enforcement depends on the nature, frequency, and impact of the violation. Anti-piracy and malware violations warrant immediate account deletion without prior warning.

6. Reporting Violations

If you believe a user or Agent violates this policy, please report it to legal@web42.ai with:

  • The Agent name and URL (if applicable)
  • A description of the violation
  • Any supporting evidence

We review all reports and will take appropriate action. Reports are treated confidentially.

7. Changes

We may update this AUP from time to time. Material changes will be posted on this page with a revised "Last updated" date. Continued use of the Platform after changes constitutes acceptance.
